Megaton Drilling Jar


One exciting piece of rental equipment that Knight Energy offers is the Megaton Drilling Jar. Knight Energy Services is the exclusive manufacturer and provider of Megaton drilling jars, energizers and shock tools in the U.S. The Megaton tools are manufactured to API Q1 Standards, using high-strength 4330 V-modified steel developed to Knight Energy Services specifications. Since these tools are manufactured in-house, Knight Energy Services can provide superior quality control and on-time delivery.

The Megaton jars ensure secure and durable operation while providing high impact. They also provide several advantages over conventional hydraulic or mechanical drilling jars, including industry leading torsional yield, involute spline design, and a superior hydraulic metering system.

The LAST® System


Our unique LAST® (Landing And Slipless Technology®) System eliminates the problems created by conventional slip designs, such as slip deformation, stretching and pipe crushing, failures below pipe body rating, and operating beyond yield with minimal safety. The LAST System offers the highest strength-to-weight ratio on landing string available and maximizes the rated load capacity of landing strings without increasing the weight of the pipe. The LAST System is capable of handling loads reaching 2.5 million pounds.

To ensure that you receive your rental equipment in premium condition, Knight Energy Services' KIP® inspection program provides full historical tracking of our equipment. By combing our Quality Assurance Protection Plan with the KIP® program, you can feel confident that each tool has been properly tested and inspected before delivery.
